My site was nominated for Best Photography Blog!

Welcome to Anna-Rina’s blogsite (yes, it’s a blog AND a website). I’m a wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I have had experience covering weddings & portrait sessions not only all over Malaysia but also at overseas locations such as London, Paris, Sydney, Perth, Singapore, Bali, Phuket and Krabi. As cliched as this may sound, I feel blessed to have a career that I love with absolute passion as it allows me to meet people from all sorts of background, capturing them at the happiest and most memorable moments of their lives.

Do scroll through the above navigation bar to get more details on the photography services that I provide and check out the below blog posts which showcases some of my favourite photos from recent wedding and lifestyle portrait sessions. Besides that, do check out my Facebook photography page for MORE images from recent shoots.

Feel free to leave a comment and share some love in this lil’ blogosphere of mine. At least I would know I’m not talking to myself ;) Then again, I do that quite often…..I kid, I kiiid. Have an awesome day ahead and thanks again for dropping by!

Happy Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is just around the corner!

And to celebrate all the mama’s in the world, Elevyn (a fair trade online store which also provides an innovative platform to raise money for social causes) has organised a contest whereby one of the prizes is a family portrait session from Anna-Rina Photography (that’s me, d-uh). wOOt!

Head over to http://www.elevyn.com/mom for more details :) You can also check out KLue’s write-up on Elevyn’s efforts here, their article is waaaay more comprehensive than my errr…substandard writing.

The ironic thing is, I won’t be celebrating Mother’s Day with my Mum this year. Since I’ll be busy shooting this weekend, here’s an early “Happy Mothers Day” wish to her…

Mummy, ok fatty might have to translate this for you since you’re much more comfortable with reading Chinese, but I just wanted to say I love you. Sure, we were all terrified of you as kids, but I know beneath that Hokkien loud mouthed, tough demeanor, you’re just a big ol’ softie inside. We’re alike that way ;) Even though we don’t show it that often, remember that Daddy and us kids appreciate every single thing that you’ve done.

You always decline offers of help from others, choosing instead to help others even back when we didn’t have much money at home. You gave me your blessings when I was 18 and wanted to leave home and start working in KL. And when you were going through your chemo a couple of years ago, you didn’t complain one single bit and even though I couldn’t spend much time with you then, you never put me through a guilt trip. That, I could do myself. Sorry for not being there more :(

Now that you’ve recovered, you’re so independent it drives me nuts sometimes when you say you still wanna continue working at your friend’s shop even though I say you don’t need to and that you should be taking it easy at home. And even though you complain about Daddy sometimes, no wait, make that all the time, you are still around, taking care of him. So yeah, its quite obvious you still love him despite all the nagging you do ;) But cut down on the nagging k? It ain’t good for your blood pressure :p

Thank you for raising me up and constantly reminding me to be (I hope) independent, (somewhat) hardworking and (sometimes) humble. From you, I’ve got my gift of gab and like your younger days, I am quite the camwhore ;p However, there’s only one thing I didn’t get from you and that’s the art of cooking. Mummy, you’re too good of a cook and you spoilt me in that aspect by never letting me enter your kitchen!

In the recent years, everytime I made a birthday wish or whenever I saw a shooting star (yes Mummy, I am very cheesy), my main wish is that you and Daddy are happy, truly happy. Take care of yourself, don’t stay out too late and don’t worry too much about me k? (don’t I sound like you? ;D)

With all my heart, I love you. See you in June! xoxo

1st Week of May

“Nate”
In 20 minutes, do as many rounds as possible of:
2 Muscle Ups
4 Handstand Push Ups (HSPU)
8 KB Swings @ 24kg/16kg
Results: 10 round (Subbed MU’s with 6 PUs & 6 RDs +RB)
The swings slapped me silly. Add in the ridiculous humidity and you only get 10 rounds from lazy ol’ me >.< Pain on left wrist worsened after the workout and instead of just feeling the sharp throbbing pain at certain angles, I’m feeling it throughout the whole day. FML. Been feeling it for the past two weeks but thought it would go away. I was so wrong on that front -______-” Have to head to the tit tar tomorrow during my lunchbreak to get it checked. I hope I don’t have to rest too long *sobs*

May 6, 2010 (Tuesday)
Went to the Oriental Tittar at Seapark, got my wrist checked aaaaaand the dude basically said I’m overexerting my wrist. And need to rest it for two weeks. I looked at him when he said that and I just went “0.0. Two weeks??!?!?!”.

Apparently it’ll be even better if I can rest my wrist longer. According to him and deep down inside, I know he’s right. But dammit, TWO WEEKS of no upper body workout?!?!!? *sobs*

Ok. That still leaves me with lower body workouts – running, squats, lunges, I can go swimming, I can lift weights with my right hand, practise one hand push ups, etc. Positive thinking!

Heal fasta oh left wrist! Like nowww!!

Faliq & Farah

I’ve known Faliq and Farah for awhile now as they’re cousins with one of my besties. So when Faliq called me up a couple of days before the session to confirm details I was over the moon :) We had their session at their new home in Wangsa Maju and I must say, Faliq and Farah, you two were easy peasy to work with!

Can’t wait to meet baby Maya when she arrives in (hopefully!) 2 weeks time. I know that you two are gonna be awesome parents and she is gonna be one uber lucky baby to have the extensive circle of Nasseries family to spoil her silly :) Wishing you a smooth delivery and healthy, happy lil Maya to come! Much love x
