My site was nominated for Best Photography Blog!

Welcome to Anna-Rina’s blogsite (yes, it’s a blog AND a website). I’m a wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I have had experience covering weddings & portrait sessions not only all over Malaysia but also at overseas locations such as London, Paris, Sydney, Perth, Singapore, Bali, Phuket and Krabi. As cliched as this may sound, I feel blessed to have a career that I love with absolute passion as it allows me to meet people from all sorts of background, capturing them at the happiest and most memorable moments of their lives.

Do scroll through the above navigation bar to get more details on the photography services that I provide and check out the below blog posts which showcases some of my favourite photos from recent wedding and lifestyle portrait sessions. Besides that, do check out my Facebook photography page for MORE images from recent shoots.

Feel free to leave a comment and share some love in this lil’ blogosphere of mine. At least I would know I’m not talking to myself ;) Then again, I do that quite often…..I kid, I kiiid. Have an awesome day ahead and thanks again for dropping by!

James & Amelia

A groom from England, a bride from China and a photographer from Malaysia – talk about the world getting smaller ;)

James and Amelia recently had an intimate ceremony celebrating their nuptials at their home in Mont Kiara with their parents and a number of close friends who came from all corners of the world. It was an understated affair with a pre-lunch ceremony, followed by a luncheon with a relaxing pool break in the afternoon for their guests before a poolside barbeque dinner in the evening.

We had plenty of time for portraits around the compound of their condo and it was nice hanging out with these two newlyweds, as they took a breather from the festivities of the day and just basked with the fact that they were husband and wife, dearly beloved.

James and Amelia, here’s to many years of love and joy ahead. Thanks again for having me on the day and I can’t wait to share the rest of the pictures with you tomorrow! For now, here’s some of my favourites from the day and a lil’ bit more on FB ;)

Featured: Asian Photography Magazine

I had totally forgotten about the interview as it was done quite awhile ago, so when Sherrie called up and told me her friend had seen some of my pictures in the magazine, I was ecstatic :D There’s so much stuff running through my mind now that if I were to blog it, y’all would think that I’m being ridonkulous.

*dramatic pause*

But I reckon its okay to be ridonkulous once in awhile. And have gibberish on your blog even though you’re already 30. Life’s too short to be too serious right?

*skips with joy* Yes, I had to do that before continuing *happy sigh*

If you had seen my twits from last night, you would’ve found out that Asian Photography Magazine featured me (Of all people! Imagine that! My first thought when they contacted me was “Are they high on drugs??”. KIDDIIIINGGG!) in their March 2010 edition recently. And I only bought a copy of the magazine earlier today just cause I didn’t know about it earlier on! What a wonderful belated birthday present this is :D

And yes, the happy family on the cover are my clients, the Sondazs! :D :D Didn’t know APM were gonna use any of the pictures for the cover, so when I saw that magazine with a picture I shot on the cover, I wanted to stand up on MPH’s cashier counter and exclaim to the crowd “ZOMG! THAT’S A PICTURE I SHOT PEOPLE!!”, while crazily waving the magazine around.

Unfortunately, I didn’t do so.

Instead, I waited till I got home, took snapshots of the 7-page feature (the scanner’s down. great timing!) and THEN stood on my living room couch and exclaimed to my imaginary friends, “THAT’S A PICTURE I SHOT PEOPLE!!”. My imaginary friends (5 of them to be precise) just continued on with their imaginary poker game. Bah!

Oh and yes, it’s a typo of my name on the cover. What the heck. They can even call me Anna Banana for all I care. I mean, they put my picture on the cover! How. Surreal.

Wheeeee!

On left, is a shot of my photoshopped self :p and on right is Trish & Ben who got engaged not long after their portrait session :) Congrats again you two!

Tiara & Aaron, Carrie & Risky and Terence & Nicole

Rowena and her “ji-mui’s” and Kenneth & Keeli

Svan & Ashley, Chuen Hau & Adeline and Elina & Hadi

Ok, promise I’ll wipe this silly smirk off my face within the next 12 hours. In the meantime, lemme go disturb my imaginary friends again and read the article aloud to them.

Hope your week’s gonna be awesome too! x

4th Week of April

19042010 (Mon)
McGhee
Complete as many rounds in 30 minutes as you can of:
275 pound Deadlift, 5 reps
13 Push-ups
9 Box jumps, 24 inch box
Results: 9 rounds + 3 deadlift
The above are the advanced, RXed figures. I lowered my deadlifts to 60kgs and replaced the 9 box jumps with 20 reps of 10kg overhead walking lunges. The deadlifts and pushups were a-ok but I was whacked silly by the walking lunges. It was when I was doing the third round of the lunges that I questioned my sanity in replacing the box jumps. I’m sooo gonna feel my quads tomorrow 0.-

20042010 (Tues)
WOD042010
5 Rounds For Time Of:
15 Handstand Push Ups(HSPU)
15 KB Swings @ 24kg/16kg
Results 9:59
Enjoyed this breath-taking (literally!) workout. That being said, HSPUs weren’t full range, still halfways but with the constant practise, I’m inching towards head to floor :D Yay! *heart* HSPU long-loooong!

IMMA GONNA BE BIG

Overhead Barbell Press
:: 20kg, 20kg, 22.5kg, 22.5kg – 10 reps for the first two sets, then 8 and 5
Deadlift Highpull x 10 reps
:: 20kg, 20kg, 20kg, 20kg
Frontal Lat Raise x 10 reps
:: 5kg, 5kg, 5kg, 5kg (both sides)
Side Lat Raise x 10 reps
:: 10lbs, 10lbs, 10lbs, 10lbs (each side)
Farmers Walk 400metres
:: With 2 x 16kg KB
Summary: Been awhile so it felt really good to be hitting the weights again and just channeling Ronnie Coleman’s “Nuthin but a peanut” mindset ;p The overhead barbell presses were quite a struggle as I felt myself over arching at times. The frontal lat raise with the 5kg plate was ok, except for the fact that my grip on the plate wasn’t strong so towards the end, I actually had to break it down into 3 – 5 reps per set. As for the side lat raise, cheated towards the end by using momentum to get the weights up, but controlled the downwards movement. I am so gonna feel my shoulders tomorrow. And you know what? I think I’m gonna enjoy the DOMS :D

400m walking lunges
Results: 9:32
I was actually doing pussy walking lunges, whereby my knee didn’t touch the floor :p Hence the faster time. Anywayyyyyyy….

AMRAP HSPU in 5 mins
Results: 19
Was practising head to floor HSPU and my head was approx 3 inches off the floor, had two mats stacked together and managed to hit those :p This was so not easy. Need more practise!

100 Sit Ups for Time
Results: 3:45

25042010 (Sunday)
Swam 5 laps of 500 metres each. Maybe its the lack of sleep for the past week, but I feel absolutely knackered by 8pm 0.-
